Youth invited to bowl
The Pirates Bowls Club is looking to recruit more young talent to get involved in the sport.
According to the club’s media liaison, Non Welsford, anyone can enjoy a sunny Saturday with friends and family.
Welsford said the club has nurtured young bowlers from Greenside High School through membership subsidies and training.
“A result of such training is Greenside High School learner Noah Mabula, who has won a few titles and has represented the Gauteng side numerous times,” he said. “The young bowler continues to play great bowls and has acquitted himself superbly.”
The club, situated in Cruden Bay Road in Greenside, offers new and fully-fledged bowlers an opportunity to join the fun and share a social game.
Novice men and women are welcome at the club on Saturdays for coaching sessions.
