St Paul’s presents a musical quiz night

PARKHURST – Lovers of all things musical can look forward to a fun fundraising event hosted by St Paul’s Anglican Church.

What’s That Tune, an interactive musical quiz to be hosted by Neil Bennett, will take place at De La Salle Holy Cross College, Victory Park, this month.

According to the congregation’s Linda Galliard, Bennett will either play the introduction or a few bars of a song.

“We will have tables of 12 people who will play as teams. Each table will have a name board. If someone thinks they know the answer, they’ll have to raise their team’s board. If they get it right, the table will receive a jellybean, which they’re not allowed to eat,” she said.

The reason for the jellybean eating ban is that, at the end of the evening, the sweets will be counted. The table with the most jellybeans will be declared the winners.

Participants should bring their own picnic meal and alcohol, although soup, sandwiches and soft drinks will be sold at the event.

“People who book for the quiz through the church website will stand a chance to win two bottles of wine for their table, and there will be theatre tickets up for auction on the night,” said Galliard.

Single people who would like to attend needn’t worry about finding 11 companions.

“If you’re attending by yourself, let us know, and we’ll put you at a table full of nice, wacky people, and you’ll soon be part of the fun,” she said.

What’s That Tune will take place at the De La Salle Holy Cross College junior school hall, corner of 13th and Braemar streets, Victory Park, at 7pm.
