A touch of class

PARKTOWN – Current and former schoolchildren of Parktown High School for Girls have excelled in touch rugby and have been selected to play in various provincial teams.

The girls all went through trials and will participate in up-coming inter-provincial tournaments.

Two girls were selected for the Touch Boks squad which will compete in the Youth World Cup. Anneke Loots and Ameerah Emeran, an old girl, will participate in the tournament in Malaysia next year.

Jenna van der Merwe, Teva Bowring, and Rebecca Stowe were selected for the U19 Gauteng team and Ashley Mittwoch, Dita Musungaie, Lethabo Mkhonto, Erin Jacobs and Anneke Loots were selected for the U17 Gauteng team.

Seven former Parktown girls were selected for the U25 Gauteng team. Elizabeth Ringrose, Charlie Jarnell, Ratidzo Gurajena, Rebecca Ringrose, Rebecca Stowe, Shana Groenewald and Shannon White will play for the U25s.

Stephenie Toke, Robenecia Mabada, Oluchi Nehiweze and Jenissi Mondaoko will play for the U15 Gauteng team.
