Safe way to say fit under Level 4

GREENSIDE – Mills said the Greenside-based club will be used for parking only and no gatherings will be permitted with bars closed until July 11.

Pirates Road Running together with the Manoni Running Club and sponsor Cool Ideas are helping the community stay fit in a healthy and responsible way through the Cool Ideas Virtual 10k.

Know as ‘Joburg’s coolest and fastest 10k’, runners are invited to take part in the event throughout the month of July.

Pirates Club road running chair Natalie Mills explained, “Throughout the month of July, runners will be taking part in our virtual 10km run. They have been given the option to run any 10km route or the traditional Pirates 10k race route through Greenside and Parkview.”

“After the amendment of lockdown to Level 4, we have encouraged our entrants to choose their own route and, for those still wanting to do the Greenside/Parkview route, to do so any day and at any time between 6:00 and 19:00.”

Mills said the Greenside-based club will be used for parking only and no gatherings will be permitted with bars closed until July 11.

The virtual event in its current form has been approved by Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA).

“We believe that running in a safe and responsible manner continues to play an integral role in the health of our community and that our participants will only benefit from this virtual run, given the strict guidelines,” said Mills.

Unfortunately, due to the very limited entries, no more entries are available.
