Golf day success

Lachman said the golf day has always been well supported and has grown each year.

The community gathered in support of the Parktown High School for Girls annual golf day on 20 November.

Chairperson of the parents’ association Kumarie Lachman said, “This year has been a year like no other and when restrictions were relaxed, we realised that we needed to get our golf family together, for both the love of the game and our school.”

“As the parents’ association, we engage in various fundraising activities to help maintain the high standards of academics, sports and culture that we offer at our school.”

Over 130 players were welcomed on the day with each player given a survival pack and vouchers for a light meal at the end of the day.

Prizes were awarded to participants in a number of categories.

The short afternoon storm failed to dampen the enthusiasm of the players. As soon as they were allowed back on the green, many teams managed to complete their games.
