Marketing manager of insurance company Corner Life, Shaquille Muick said it was their responsibility as a business that operated in the community to give back to the people.

“This was our first annual under-13 soccer tournament event aimed at taking young ones off the streets during school holidays. Though we are a small insurance company that operates in the community and render its services mostly to the poor who can’t afford expensive insurances, we have a responsibility to give back to the community. This was just a start of a tournament that will be counted among big sports events in the area in years to come,” Muick said.

Head coach of Alex Royal Tigers SC, Thembinkosi ‘Tiger’ Matholengwe said, “Congratulations to the winners of the tournament who worked very hard to lift the trophy. As local coaches, we really appreciate this partnership with Corner Life. The event will help us keep our players busy and off the notorious streets of Alexandra. We will continue working with them to develop local soccer and our future stars.”
