Wanderers Athletics Club is proud of their performance at the Comrades Marathon

ILLOVO – Wanderers Athletics Club had 53 finishers at this year's event, with a record number of 11 silver medal holders.


The Wanderers Athletics Club performed exceptionally well at the Comrades Marathon this year with 53 finishers.

Sam Bieske of the club stated that Ryan Eichstadt, who was the first Wanderers Club runner to finish the race, completed the event in a time of 06:41:45.

Kate Rees ran an exceptional race, completing the event in a time of 07:20:59, earning herself a silver medal and 25th place in the ladies race.

The club received a record number of 11 silver medals at this year’s event.

Of the 11 silver medals (sub 07:30:00), two were Isavel Roche-Kelly medals.

A further 15 runners arrived in the sub-nine-hour category, eight runners completed the race between nine and 10 hours, eight between 10 and 11 hours (bronze) and 11 between 11 and 12 hours.
