“We’re excited to be celebrating the third anniversary of the race which forms part of the fastest growing races on the City’s sporting calendar,” said Michael Meyer, managing director of Stillwater Sports, the organisers of the race.

“What better way to enjoy Heritage Day than to join thousands of runners and walkers at a 10km event that celebrates the unique history of Johannesburg and supports the regeneration of this vibrant city.

“Although we’d love runners to go for gold as it generates a lot of excitement, we would also like to encourage entrants to enjoy each kilometre, take in the surroundings, the on-route entertainment and the overall vibe. We look forward to welcoming all runners to the start line on National Heritage Day.”

Mike Vacy-Lyle, CEO of FNB Business said, “We have seen steady growth in the number of people that partake in the FNB Joburg 10K CITYRUN. As headline sponsor of this race, we strongly believe that this event is more than just a CITYRUN – it is a stimulating way of inviting businesses, entrepreneurs and people from all walks of life to come out in their numbers and enjoy their city.”
