Kes Easter Festival kicks off in quality

HOUGHTON – King Edward VII School pays host to some of the best rugby and hockey schools around.

The 16th Kes Easter Festival hit the ground running with spectacular rugby and hockey action.

A whopping 36 teams from schools across South Africa have converged on King Edward VII School, Houghton, to find out who is best over the Easter weekend.

Day one of the festival, on 29 March, saw five senior rugby, 12 U13 rugby and 12 hockey games played out.

As King Edward’s headmaster, David Lovatt said, “The essence of our festival is to provide the players with the opportunity to showcase their skills, without the hindrance of the typical pressures that so often play out in the normal league season.”
