Spring is here … a perfect time to start afresh!

SANDTON – Get into shape for summer with Adventure boot Camp.

The Adventure Boot Camp recently hosted a Spring Day class at the Wanderers Club in Illovo, to get back into healthy living and exercising.

Getting back into a fitness routine after a long winter’s break can be difficult. Fitness levels have slumped and your exercise gear is on the wrong side of snug.

“There’s no better time than the present, to get off your couch and into your trainers. The days are longer but still crisp and fresh – it’s the perfect time of year to exercise outdoors,” said Adventure Boot Camp’s head trainer, Wendy-Joy Timmes.

Adventure Boot Camp gave some helpful tips to spring-clean your outdoor exercise routine:

  • The better weather equals fewer excuses to blame rain and cold weather for extended couch sessions. Set your alarm to go off earlier and take advantage of the longer days for a brisk walk or easy run
  • Exercise outside instead of running on a treadmill. It’s also great for overall mood and well-being
  • Add variety to your outdoor workout by using things such as stairs, steps and benches that provide a great opportunity to increase the difficulty and intensity of your workouts.

Adventure Boot Camp offers classes across the country, with each camp run over a four-week period.
