Highlands Park Football Club juniors are hard at work preparing for the upcoming season which begins in early April.

The club takes pride in being one of the best when it comes to developing young players and has nurtured many players who have become some of the best in the country, including Thuso Phala, Daniel Cardoso and Levy Mokgothu.

The club has 19 teams and more than 130 players in different age groups in the junior division starting from six years old. The club’s junior division is run by Judit Sassu and Debbie Ilouze and the seniors by Larry Brookstone and Brad Kaftel.

Ilouze said all the coaches in the junior ranks have coaching licences and the aim of the club is to make sure that the players receive the best training at a young age.

“It is not only about winning, it’s about developing these kids and, at the end of the day, make sure that they have fun,” she said.
