Sign up for next year’s football season at Highlands Park FC

HIGHLANDS NORTH - Highlands Park Football Club prides itself as one of the best clubs when it comes to the development of young players, having produced some of the country's best footballers over the years.

The club has nurtured and produced many players that have become some of the best in the country, including Thuso Phala, Daniel Cardoso and Levy Mokgothu who was at the club for six seasons before he went on to join Moroka Swallows and plays for Kaizer Chiefs.

The co-chairman of the club, Brad Kaftel, said the mission of the team at junior level is to help nurture and groom young players. “The objective of the club at junior level is not to win, but to develop and create better soccer players. At this level, for the kids, it’s all about enjoying football and improving the standard of coaching,” said Kaftel.

The club has 19 teams in different age groups in the juniors division starting from six years old, and has over 130 young soccer players in the junior section.

The club’s junior team is run by Judit Sassu and Debbie Ilouze, while the seniors are co-chaired by Larry Brookstone and Brad Kaftel.

Registration for next year’s teams will take place at Gemmil Park, next to Linksfield, on 17 January between 9am and 12pm. All age groups between six and 19 are welcome. Parents and players are warned that the league starts early next year, and early registration is essential.
