Kicking it for cancer

JOBURG - Sorbet Man, the big brother of Sorbet Beauty Salons in South Africa, plans to gather 32 teams for their annual Balls for Brovember Action Football Tournament to be held at Discovery Soccer Park in Illovo on 28 November.

Sorbet Man is appealing to all local residents to put on their soccer boots and play in support of prostate cancer awareness.

Teams are required to secure their entry with a once-off entry fee of R1 600 per team, all of which will be donated to the More Balls Than Most testicular cancer charity foundation (MBTM).

Mark Pilgrim, cancer survivor and ambassador of MBTM said, “I know the importance of early detection. Someone only realises the importance after you have been touched. Men tend to be proud and sometimes ignorant, but the fact is, ignorance can cost you your life.”

With growing support from all corners of Johannesburg, the Balls for Brovember Tournament is set to be a thrilling day out for the whole family.

Balls for Brovember football team entries are now open. A maximum of 32 teams will qualify for the day and entries are on a first-come-first-served basis.
