Entries open for this year’s Jozi Urban Mountain Bike Adventure

JOBURG - The Hollard Jozi Urban Mountain Bike Adventure (Juma) race, in partnership with City Parks and the Johannesburg Zoo, will take place on 6 September and is now open for entries.

This is a race for all kinds of riders, from professionals to weekend warriors, newbies and novices. Along with the Elite categories, there will be a variety of entry categories for those of a more creative inclination.

Taking into account all of the feedback received in respect of last year’s event, the Hollard Juma team has put major changes into action for this year. This year, riders can look forward to a tougher 54km route, with fewer bottlenecks, less congestion and more water stops. The route will remain the same as last year, but riders can expect a number of improvements such as rubberised ramps, fewer road crossings and fresh new challenges.

For first-time riders, teens and more laid back riders, the 22km race will be completely separate and much less technical, but it will still offer an excellent introduction to Johannesburg’s urban mountain biking potential.

If the challenge of conquering the mighty City of Johannesburg is not enough, this year even more amazing prizes to the total value of over R200 000 will be up for grabs.

On the day of the race, Marks Park will also be alive with activities for the whole family with exciting food stalls, a beer garden and a music truck.

Entry fees are R399 for the 54km race and R299 for the 22km race.
