Old Eds runners prepare for Comrades marathon

HOUGHTON - This year's Comrades marathon is less than a month away and the Old Eds runners took an unusual route for their annual Long Run in preparation for the race.

A group of 10 runners from Old Eds ran about 60km along the route of the Gautrain.

They began at 4.45am at the Rosebank station and continued to Sandton through to Woodmead, Midrand and ended at the Centurion station.

The group from Old Eds were joined by other club runners at Woodmead and were provided with food and drinks along the way.

The Comrades marathon will take place on 31 May, the route between Durban to Pietermaritzburg is about 90kms.

The Old Edwardian Sports Club anticipates around 20 runners that will be taking part in this year’s race.
