School for raw golfing talent

JOBURG - Raw golfing talent can now be nurtured at a newly-established golf school, Raw Golf Schools.

The school has been set up by accomplished golf instructors Richard Kaplan, head professional at Houghton Golf Club and head professional at Killarney Golf Club, Warrick Druian.

“Raw Golf Schools is the culmination of a life-long dream for both of us,” said Kaplan.

The duo has 55 years of professional experience in the golf industry as players and as coaches.

“We have worked extensively with both men’s and ladies elite amateurs, and professional golfers as well as countless club golfers,” added Kaplan.

The school will be hosted at Houghton Golf Club and Killarney Country Club.

“The school targets top amateur golfers, school leavers, or anyone who may think they have what it takes to be a professional golfer,” said Druian. “This ongoing quest will produce self-motivated, professional students, students who will be trained and equipped to perform in the highly pressurised arena of elite amateur or professional golf.”

Joining the coaching team will be golf fitness expert Garth Milne, counselling psychologist Maretha Claasen, former European Tour and Challenge Tour player Neil Cheetham, and Dr Jon Patricios. Virgin Active Old Eds has partnered with the school to host the personal training classes by Milne.

Aspiring golfers or anyone interested are encouraged to visit the Raw Golf Schools website.
