PSL: Moses Mabhida to host MTN8 Final

PARKTOWN – The Parktown-based Premier Soccer League (PSL) announced that the Moses Mabhida Stadium would host the MTN8 final.

The final between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs will be held on the evening of 20 December. The winners will walk away with R8 million.

PSL CEO, Brand de Villiers said, “We are excited to announce that the MTN8 final will be hosted by Durban – a place that has proven to be a huge success for us in the last couple of years.”

De Villiers added that he was expecting the match to be sold out soon. “What I can say to the fans is that they must purchase their ticket soon. We know that the stadium can only take around 50 000 and once we reach safety capacity, we will close the sale of tickets,” he said.

Pirates advanced with a 5-1 aggregate thrashing of Wits University, while Chiefs outplayed title-holders Platinum Stars 5-0 over two legs.

Tickets for the game were sold out in less than four hours.
