ORT SA’s classic golf day still a classic

HOUGHTON – ORT SA’s Classic Golf Day is in its 41st this year and still going strong.

All golfers and those with aspirations of becoming golfers are invited for a fun-filled day on 26 October. Corporates are invited to sponsor a hole or to make up a four ball.

Prizes include a weekend away at a luxury game lodge, hampers and luxury goods.

This year’s raffle will pay tribute to Len Lewison who was co-opted onto the ORT SA Golf Committee 33 years ago. “I think at the time they needed at least one serious golfer on the committee and I was instrumental in getting the Killarney Golf Course secured on a Sunday – unheard of in charity golfing circles,” said Lewison.

He added that he often gets approached by other charities to organise a golf day, but ORT SA was the one he preferred to support.

“We are very privileged to have Voltex and Ellies, as timeless supporters. There is still room for more,” said Lewison.
