Roelofsen and captain, Sibonelo Makhanya shared a 135-run, fifth-wicket partnership before the latter’s innings was brought to an end for a well-played 56.
Roelofsen continued to forge ahead, taking the lead once more in his new partnership with Andile Phehlukwayo, who scored a half century from 66 balls before his dismissal in the 129th over.
A ball later, Roelofsen was denied a well-deserved 150 when he was caught behind for 149.
South Africa were 402/7 at that point, and Keith Dudgeon (16) and Stefan Klopper (14) managed a 30-run, ninth-wicket partnership before South Africa were bowled out for 433.
