The Cook and Conway show
The Highveld Strikers cricket team whitewashed Griqualand West in Kimberley, winning the three day and the one day game.
At the close of play on day one of the three day game, the Strikers were tottering on 30/3 in reply to the home side’s 345.
Enter Old Eds opener Stephen Cook, who scored a majestic undefeated 160 to lead them in the charge.
Together with Devon Conway they put on 140 for the second wicket with Conway scoring a stylish 68 enabling the Strikers to win by six wickets.
In the one day game it was Cook and Conway who led from the front again.
Cook scored 68 and Conway was undefeated on 48 in the Strikers total of 180/2. The visitors then bowled out Griquas for 140.
With performances like these, Cook and Conway could be pushing for a place in the Lions team before long.
