BrightRock Players Choice Awards brings out the world champs in Hyde Park
HYDE PARK – BrightRock Awards are one of a kind for South African rugby, as they are held by the players for the players.
The third annual BrightRock Players Choice Awards was held by The Park at Hyde Park on Tuesday evening, 19 November – the awards are held by the players for the players.
The award show is hosted by BrightRock a life insurance company and the award show was star-studded, as the recently crowned World Rugby Champions Springbok came in their numbers.
Rugby players from all South Africa’s 14 unions voted for their best players for the season. Fans are able to vote for BrightRock Fans Choice Category.
The biggest winners of the night:
- Pieter-Steph du Toit won three awards on the night: Defender and Forward player of the year and the coveted Players’ player of the year
- Cheslin Kolbe: Backline player of the year
- Herschel Jantjies: Best off the bench award and Most improved player
- Rosko Specman: Fans choice award.
