Lions player inspires

ORCHARDS – Lions Rugby Player Hacjivah Dayimani paid a visit to the students at Orchards Primary School for their career day.

The students from Orchards Primary School received a special visit from Lions Rugby player Hacjivah Dayimani on 14 September.

The visit formed part of the school’s career day. Head of sport at the school Odirile Motsage said that the visit created an opportunity for Dayimani to chat and give support to some of the school’s learners who are making waves in the sport.

Dayimani met with four youngsters who will be taking part in an Irish tour representing South Africa as well as recently selected Golden Lions U13 player Arinze Dlamini, and finalist in the Golden Lions trials Katlego Mokwena.

Motsage said, “Mr Dayimani gave the rugby players some support and pointers to doing well. But he also spoke to all the students on career day and shared his story and success.

“The kids come from very underprivileged backgrounds. So having someone like Hacjivah to come through and see someone from a similar background and give them inspiration is very important.”

Dayimani said, “I just basically want to share my journey and where it all started. I want the students to realise that you can make it against all odds.”

He added, “I just to instil that while they’re young they should not give up. No matter what you do just follow your dreams.”
