WATCH: 50,000 residents enjoy Walk the Talk

JOHANNESBURG – Almost 50,000 Joburg residents took to the streets of the city as the 2017 edition of the MTN Walk the Talk with 702 took over the streets of the city.

Thousands of people walked for fun, for fitness and to highlight causes that were important to them. Many residents braved the cold and the darkness to make sure they were at the starting line just before sunrise on Sunday morning.

The 15km walk started at 7am on Sunday morning, followed by the 8km route at 9am and the ever popular 5km kicking off at 11am. There was a fantastic turnout for all three of the distances, with those taking part in the 15km route walking through the streets of the city, with highlights including a trip across the Nelson Mandela Bridge and through the grounds of the Constitutional Court.

Even residents who were not taking part turned out on the pavements to give support, just going to prove that Johannesburg really is the city that cares.
