Donations a most welcome gift by Guild Cottage

"One of our goals has been to create a homely environment and to re-socialise them into having a childhood that is not riddled with trauma."

Social worker at Guild Cottage, Tshegofatso Komape writes:

Dear friends,

Our children are brought to Guild Cottage for various reasons, many of them not knowing any kindness, particularly from strangers. One of our goals has been to create a homely environment and to re-socialise them into having a childhood that is not riddled with trauma, but one that is filled with love, kindness and the protection every child deserves.

The donation drive dubbed Going for Guild has provided us with the tools to fulfill this goal and our pantry is currently filled with goods that may last us until the year-end, and for that, we are eternally grateful. Our children have been gifted with beautiful winter clothing and could not have come at a better time as the cold Johannesburg nights have just started. The school stationery which we received will also be helpful in ensuring that our girls continue to have the tools to learn during this lockdown.

Covid-19 has brought South Africa to its knees and we appreciate that even in these trying times we still have people thinking about us. May the spirit of Ubuntu be forever in your hearts.
