Letter: Gratitude to Steven Kruger

JOBURG - Ward 72 resident writes a letter of gratitude.

MY NEIGHBOURS and I owe a huge debt of gratitude to our Ward 72 councillor Steven Kruger.

There was an electrical/water problem on our street, where residents were getting shocked either when they were showering or washing dishes.

A neighbour called me and relayed that a few of them had been having these problems and one attempted to log a complaint on the City Power website, to no avail. Another had her electrician call the department and after an hour on the line, he had still not got through to anyone he could report the problem to.

I contacted Kruger and explained the problem and what we had attempted to do. Within a few minutes, he called me back and told me that he had logged the problem with the manager. A few minutes after that, the councillor got back to me and said there was an electrical mobile unit attending to the problem.

I returned home a few minutes later and saw the electricians attending to the issue and they managed to find the fault. The residents felt much safer as they knew they could shower or wash without being shocked or injured.

We are all so grateful to Kruger and the staff who attended to this fault, and really appreciate the time and effort they took to get it under control.
