LETTER: Sympathy goes to security guard

Anonymous resident writes:

Regarding the dog that was shot recently, it just once again proves the South African adage that ‘No good deed goes unpunished’.

The gate was left open – presumably with the pit bull pets inside the house.

The guards were doing their job and should have approached the owner and assisted with the gate closure.

After the security guards identified themselves, the owner lets the dogs out!

What would any normal person do if attacked by pit bulls and one is savaging you! My sympathies go to the security company.

I have a question … Are pit bull terriers bought as pets or as defensive attack dogs?
