Letter: Well, no fine

I have visitors from Germany who visit regularly and have been stopped at several roadblocks.

They have had to pay numerous ‘fines’. They were unaware that they have to get a docket and go to a police station.They have been stopped in Johannesburg and in Cape Town. It seems that rental cars are the target.

I know my rights and have instructed them on what they ought to do next time they are stopped. The whole thing is an absolute disgrace.
