Parktown High School for Girls’ netball first team defeats old girls team in a friendly match
The Parktown High School for Girls sports weekend saw hockey, softball, and cross country being played.
Parktown High School for Girls’ old and new netball first teams braved the cold evening and kickstarted the sports day weekend with a netball match on August 30.

The sports weekend included hockey, softball, cross country, tennis doubles, water polo, and squash.
The school’s first netball team walked away victoriously with a score of 14–10 against the old girls.
The school’s first netball team captain, Siwe Ndema, said the game was thrilling and exciting. “I played with old girls I had never met before, so sharing a court with old girls was interesting because I saw how they played as a team. The game was fun because we implemented our rules, which made it more fun.”

Old first netball team captain Lisa Sibanda noted that playing netball as an old girl with new girls was interesting.
“I thought my performance wouldn’t be great because I had not played netball in a year, but the feedback I received from my team was motivating. Overall it was fun playing with old and new girls.”
