St Teresa’s School celebrated Mercy Day

The money raised during the 'Leave Your Print' campaign goes towards the building and facilities.

St Teresa’s School celebrated Mercy Day on September 22, by supporting the “Leave Your Print” campaign.

This campaign is run by the Catholic Institute of Education and aims to raise much-needed funds to build or upgrade toilet facilities in under-resourced South African Catholic schools.

Sadly, many children in South Africa are subjected to poor sanitation facilities such as pit toilets, run-down, broken toilets and lack of adequate running water to run these facilities. The money raised during the Leave Your Print campaign goes towards the building, upgrading, or maintenance of such ablution facilities.

St Teresa’s admission and marketing manager, Lianda May said, “Our Rosies purchased a Leave Your Print sticker for R10 and came to school barefoot or in flip-flops in solidarity with their peers for whom going to school barefoot is unfortunately their everyday reality. They also continued to support our Springboks by wearing their #BokFriday attire.”

May thanked the Rosie community for their generosity and continue to invite the greater community to scan the QR code to join the school in leaving their print in impacting and making a difference in under-resourced schools
