The Houghton Club hosted a Heritage Day tournament
Greenside Netball Club's next tournament will be hosted on October 28, at Greenside High School.
The Houghton Netball Club hosted a Heritage Day tournament which saw eight teams compete on September 23, at Houghton School.
Greenside Netball Club entered two teams – the seniors, the Court Bunnies and the junior team, the Junior Bunnies. The Court Bunnies did well and were placed second and the juniors came fourth.
The results were: Greenside Court Bunnies played Powerpuff Girls for first and second and Powerpuff Girls won 32–7; Greenside Junior Bunnies played Houghton’s Jalapeño Hotties, losing 23–13.
Greenside’s coach and president Maria Singh said the tournaments are held as often as possible.
“Netball is used for building and forging strong relationships through sports. We train every Tuesday and Thursday at Greenside High School and are very lucky to have sponsors who provided prizes for the tournament.”
The next tournament will be hosted October 28, at Greenside High School.
The Junior Bunnies coach Phakama Sigidi said, “Our performance was not consistent but I am happy about our win. We need to improve when it comes to the ball position for our next game.”
