Locals showed up in droves at the Parkview-based zoo for the monthly morning runs and walk

The Joburg Zoo Trot consists of of the 5km and 10km walk or run. Gates open at 06:30, registration is at 07:00 and the race begins at 07:30.

Locals showed up in their sportswear at the Johannesburg Zoo for the Zoo Trot and run on August 13.

The event is organised monthly to promote a healthy lifestyle with a wildlife view for the community.

Johannesburg Zoo executive manager Louise Gorden said, “We are always looking forward to more numbers with every trot. Although winter is approaching and the zoo is generally a cold place, I am hoping more people will come through because it’s a safe activity for children and a place where they can also see animals.”
