Bowlers put their best ‘hand’ forward at the Killarney Bowls Club to raise funds for Hatzolah Medical Emergency Rescue on July 30.
“Hatzolah charity is a non-profit organisation that relies on donations. The organisation goes out to every emergency they are called out to. They pick you up and take you to the hospital without a fee. This year we are looking at raising about R160 000 to R200 000. How we raise the funds is R2 000 is paid per [bowling] team and we also have company donations and raffles,” said the chairman of Killarney Bowls Club Keith Benjamin.
Benjamin added the organisation had helped communities throughout the tough lockdown restrictions.
“During the tough lockdown, they checked and monitored people’s temperatures, oxygen levels and transported people to medical facilities.”
