Sandringham CPF invites residents to election meeting

The Sandringham CPF has been requested by the Gauteng Provincial Community Policing Board to hold elections.

Sandringham Community Police Forum has been requested to hold sector elections for the coming year. This is in accordance with a request from the Gauteng Provincial Community Policing Board (GPCPB), and is for 10 office bearers for CPF Sector 1, sub-forum for the following residential areas: Sydenham north of Kinfauns Street, Sandringham, Fairmount, Glenhazel, Organic Market, Bramley View and Lyndhurst.

Residents are urged to attend the meeting at Fairmount Bowls Club, 27 George Avenue on August 16, at 18:00.

The meeting will be conducted by officers from the GPCPB and Sandringham Police Station, as required by law and in accordance with the CPF constitution.

The role of the office bearers will be to attend monthly meetings, and work together with the police representatives to identify and assist in fighting crime in their area. This is in terms of SA Police Service Act 68 of 1995, and includes an oversight function of police activity to ensure their proper undertaking of their duties.

Interested members of the public are urged to attend this meeting, bringing with them identity documents and proof of residence, which are required for nomination as office bearers.

All office bearers appointed will be provided with the opportunity to obtain police clearance in order to be members of this forum.
