Locals showed up and showed off their fitness skills at the Rockies Gerald Fox Memorial Race on June 2.
The race consisted of three different kilometres: 5, 10 and 21.
The organisers’ honour Gerald Fox, a popular member of their club and a dear personal friend, who was a victim of violent crime. This event has consistently maintained high standards of organisation, regardless of route or venue.
The 5km fun run was run in association with Parktown High School for Girls and Barbeque Rib Manufacturers.
The first-place winners in each category are as follows:
- 21km men: Lucky Mohale with a time of 1:07:21
- 21km women: Karabo More with a time of 1: 22: 24
- 10km men: Nicholas Seoposengwa with a time of 0:31:50
- 10km women: Stella Marias with a time of 00: 39: 33
- 5km men: Andries Meyer with a time of 00:19:54
- 5km women: Cassidy Bosman with a time of 00:21:46
