St Teresa’s Junior Primary School held its Rosie Book Week to celebrate and encourage reading on May 23.
The week started with a book character dress-up day which saw the campus filled with various book characters from the many books learners enjoy reading.
St Teresa’s admission and marketing manager Lianda May said learners were dressed as characters from Little Miss, Dr Seuss, and Harry Potter as well as princesses.
“This was followed by our ‘Travel by Book’ Readathon prize-giving. Congratulations to Hannah Skeen in Grade 2 who read a total of 90 books and was the overall winner in Junior Primary.”
May added that four local authors, Riaan Manser, Nancy Gaylard, Bianca Flanders and Roslynne Toerien visited the school and read their books to the learners.
