Residents are urged to log queries to the relevant entities

Johannesburg Water has three ways to log queries: call center, sms line and anonymous tip-off line.

Rosebank and surrounding areas are urged to be the ears and eyes of ward councillors in reporting any burst pipes or leaks.
A resident passing Oxford Road and North Avenue reported a blocked sewerage drain which has been unattended for more than two weeks to the Gazette.

117 Ward councillor Tim Truluck said he was not aware of the blocked sewerage drain and urged residents to log queries to the relevant entities so that he could step in and escalate the matter if necessary.

The following are steps on how to log call or queries for Johannesburg Water:

  • Call Center +27 (0)11 375 5555
  • SMS Line +27 (0) 45 201
  • Anonymous tip-offs +27 80 000 2587
  • Email customer@jwater.co.za

Once the process of logging a query is complete, Johannesburg Water should give you a reference number.

After completing that process, as a resident you contact your ward councillor and follow these steps to escalate the matter:

  • Name
  • Cell
  • Address (include suburb and nearest street corner or avenue)
  • Reference number
  • Date & time first logged.
  • The actual problem (keep it short)
  • Send a photo
