Live music, guided tours and a children’s play area will be part of the Mother’s Day Concert at the Johannesburg Zoo.
All are welcome to pre-buy their tickets at the zoo for the event on May 14. The concert will be held at the Bandstand, Jan Smuts Avenue and Upper Park Drive, Parkview from 10:00 to 15:00 and attendees can dress in casual.
Moms, grandmoms, family and friends can look forward to the golden voice of Amanda Faku, better known to her fans as Ami Faku and renowned Afrikaans musician and storyteller, Jo Black .
The Zoo has free tickets up for grabs, so if you’re feeling lucky, simply follow these easy steps:

- Winners will be announced on May 11 at 17:00 on all JCPZ’s social media platforms.
- Tickets are not cash transferable.

Entrance fees are the normal zoo prices of R115 for adults, R68 for pensioners and children under 12 years. Children under 3 years get to enter for free. Safe parking will be available at the zoo’s main parkade at Upper Park at R16 a vehicle as well as at the Zoo Lake and Military Museum.
Concert goers are encouraged to dress warm and comfortably, pack a picnic basket and ready for sing alongs and dancing. Regrettably, it is prohibited to bring alcoholic beverages, cans, balls, balloons, and any items that may harm the animals in the zoo. We’re ensuring that the well-being of our animals is not adversely affected through the assistance of an acoustic consultant and zoo curators, who will monitor the animals for the duration of the event. Several food vendors will provide an array of delicious dishes for sale.
