45 suspects arrested during O Kae Molao operation

A joint intelligence-driven operation to curb crime in the Norwood area.

Norwood Police Station, the Johannesburg provincial and district police, and other law enforcement agencies were hard at work to curb the scourge of crimes in Norwood and its surrounding areas.

The Norwood spokesperson, Warrant Officer Eric Masotsha, said the O Kae Molao operation (Where is the Law) was a success as they arrested 45 suspects.

“The operation was conducted at the corner of Louis Botha Avenue and Garden Road in Orchards on January 14 at night.”

He adds that the arrests were made for a variety of crimes ranging in magnitude, including both armed and unarmed robberies, housebreaking and theft, possession of suspicious stolen goods, possession of counterfeit money, and bribery, among others.

“It was a privilege to have a commander who honestly leads by example when it comes to the duties of police officials; our Provincial Commissioner, General Elias Mawela, took part in searching with his other generals’ management.”

Johannesburg Provincial Commissioner General Elias Mawela commended the keenness and fidelity of all the police officers, law enforcement officials, and security agencies involved in the arrests.

“The dedication of the police officers and members of the public who collectively came forward with information is commendable, and the partnership between the police and members of the public has indeed improved,” Mawela added.
