A new year with new plans

Residents in Ward 81 to expect new plans from their councillor, Joanne Horwitz.

Ward 81 councillor Joanne Horwitz speaks to the Gazette about her 2023-year plans for the community.

According to Horwitz, last year was challenging, not only in getting to grips with various challenges that her residents faced but also in facing numerous barriers to progress.

“I learnt a great deal, and I am now ready to begin to implement some of the decisions that have come out of those learnings.”

Horwitz highlights that this year she hopes to implement some ideas in Ward 81 by bringing on board and working together with the leaders she identified.

Joanne Horwitz elaborates on the plans for Ward 81.

She indicated that one of the things that have become clear to her over the last few months of last year is that, as a community, they need strong private and public partnerships.

“I spent a great deal of time and effort identifying such organisations and individuals that might be able to assist and I intend to begin implementing various workshops around entrepreneurship, mental health, ready-for-work, CV drafting, and a programme of action in the community for our youth.”

She looks forward to the coming months and wishes a healthy and prosperous time in all areas for her residents in 2023.
