Norwood Primary School teachers record a smooth day

The Grade 1's of Norwood Primary School are currently in class doing a range of activities for their first day.

The teachers at Norwood Primary School have expressed that they experienced a smooth first day after the Grade 1s were welcomed for the start of their schooling careers.

Speaking about the day with the paper, the Norwood Primary School Grade 1 Head Heather Mur-Mills said, “…today we received our Grade 1 learners and we are so excited, the children are so excited. The process went through perfectly. Very smooth”.

“For the future, we look forward to a great year. We’ve got some exciting activities planned,” she said.

Norwood Primary School principal Afrika Hlongwane said her hope for Norwood Primary School is to bring back the joy in learning and to set a positive tone from the first day of the academic year.

“We hope to build a strong network with our parents and strive for excellence. One of my biggest dreams for the school was coding and robotics, as well as introducing an online library to our children which commences in the foundation phase this year,” she said.
