Greenside Primary School teacher says Grade 1s are amazing
The Grade 1s of Greenside Primary School have been begging their class teacher to teach them how to read.
The first graders of Greenside Primary School have been described as “amazing” and their first day started off on a good note.
One of the Grade 1 teachers at Greenside Primary School Ayanda Mabaso said, “…these grade 1s are so amazing. It’s day one, some of them are a bit nervous, and some of them were crying but after an hour I saw the ice breaking off. They started making friends, they are enjoying themselves.

“It’s a new year for them so there’s a lot to do, there’s a lot to learn…they are so excited. They want to learn, they want to read”.

Mabaso also said some of them excitedly told her that they don’t know how to read and they want to learn how to.
