The Rosebank Management District representative, Basil Ngakane looks back on the district’s highlights.

Ngakane thanked the community for their efforts in helping the district carry out its duties.

“As we near the end of a challenging year, the Rosebank Management District (RMD) acknowledges the great determination and efforts of its members, stakeholders, the business community, residents, and visitors for continuously supporting our efforts to ensure Rosebank remains the best place to live, work and play.”

He added that his highlight was being appointed as the new operations manager in September.

Ngakane said the RMD and its stakeholders continued to strive for Rosebank to stay on the map as Joburg’s fastest-growing City Improvement District.

“In August we hosted the Executive Mayor of the City of Joburg, Dr Mpho Phalatse for a walkabout of the precinct, and an opportunity to put forward pressing issues in the neighbourhood and the importance of private-public partnerships. We are hopeful for improved working relations with the City of Joburg entities in the coming year.”

The representative noted that since the fight against crime remained a great deal of concern, the district continuously worked with law enforcement and security to conduct blitz operations to deal with concerns of drug dealing, phone-snatching, and other crimes in the neighbourhood.

He concluded that the district’s cleaning team would be working extended hours from December 1 to 27 to ensure the precinct was clean and accessible to all.
