Rosebank resident finishes first at the Lowveld Canoe River

As a Veteran age group paddler, experience counts more than age in this sport.

Wayne Jacobs, a Rosebank resident, won the race finishing first as the only paddler in 00:1:48 min, to cross the finish line in less than two hours.

As a Veteran age group paddler, experience counts more than age in this sport. Jacobs recently returned from competing in Portugal at the International Canoe Federation’s World Masters Champions where he was placed second place in the 40- to 44-year-old “Master’s” marathon race.

South Africans performed well this year, and after the training and discipline required to prepare for the international event on flat water, he was looking forward to rushing off to do the Lowveld Croc River race!
