As the holiday season approaches, crime in South Africa as a whole escalates.

The Norwood Community in Blue (CIB) shares a few important tips for Norwood and the surrounding areas to keep in mind to be safe during the festive season when criminals are looking for anything to make a quick buck.

Here are the tips:

  • Please be vigilant because the criminal could be someone from your neighbourhood.
  • Park your cars inside your yard and keep your gates locked.
  • Don’t leave any valuables in your car wherever you park.

  • Avoid carrying cash on you.
  • Ensure your valuables are secure when going shopping.
  • Watch the people around you in your area and when shopping.

Norwood CIB said if you notice anything suspicious, please report it immediately, as recently there have been many unfamiliar cars and faces in the Norwood precinct areas.
