Delicous dishes help make dreams come true

Over 3 000 people virtually came together to cook and raise much needed funds for Reach for a Dream through its Cooking for Dream initiative.

Celebrity chefs and cooking enthusiasts recently came together to raise more than R500 000 at Reach for a Dream’s Cooking for Dreams fundraiser.

Reach for a Dream, based in Illovo, is a non-profit which helps to make the dreams of children fighting life-threatening diseases come true.

Bryanston residents Sungeetha Sewpersad and her daughter Amaira show off their culinary talents.

Around 3 000 supporters joined the live event hosted by renowned chefs David Higgs, J’Something and The Lazy Makoti, in partnership with Discovery Vitality, Emperors Palace and Woolworths, to raise much-need funds for the organisation.

Karisma and Soul Abraham from Hyde Park are among the 140 people who joined the in-person event at Emperors Palace.

Participants cooked a delicious appetiser and main course meal with products from their cooking-for-dreams boxes values at R550 –

it included ingredients to feed a family of four.
