Norwood Young Stars showcase their skills on Heritage Day

Heritage Day was filled with sport action for Norwood South African Police Service, Life Line and Norwood Young Stars Football Club.

Heritage Day was filled with sport action for Norwood South African Police Service, Life Line and Norwood Young Stars Football Club. Founder of the Norwood Young Stars Venita Masisi said a variety of activities including soccer tournaments took place on September 24 AT Paterson Park Recreation Centre.

Various clubs including the Johannesburg United Newden Football Club, Collins Mbesuma Football Club and Rangers Football Club all participated.

Teams come together in celebration after the match is over.

The tournament was won by Collins Mbesuma Football Club.

“Different types of traditional food were served; the dancing girls showcased different types of dances including traditional and amapiano. Poetry and drama were also done. Our ward councillor was also there to support the community.

“It was a huge success and we would also like to thank City of Johannesburg and Ndodana Consulting Engineers for their contribution of drinks for the children,” said Masisi.

The women’s soccer teams are set to take on the field in a match game.
