Highlands Park U10 and U15 team celebrate semi-final wins

The U15 Highlands Park soccer team remained undefeated this season.

The Highlands Park U10 and U15 soccer teams came out victorious in their semi-final matches of the league on September 25.

Supportive parents and guardians filled the Highlands Park stands for the club’s semi-final matches in Linksfield.
U15 coach Miguel Dos Santos said although their game was shaky in the first half, he was impressed with the team’s effort and 4–0 win.

“The U15s played the semi-finals and next week we’ll be playing the finals for the season. The score against Robertsham was impressive and the boys remained undefeated the entire season,” he said.
The captain of the U15 team Sinethemba Ndlovu added, “I feel good about the team’s performance today. The team played well and it was our top game.”

Highlands Park U10 coach Carel Tshiama Mambe was pleased with his team’s 2–0 over Robertsham.

“I thought the team played very well although they are still scared and shy because this was their first big game. They also might be scared because of the pressure they’re facing as they are a week away from the cup final where they could win gold medals,” he said.

Robertsham U10 coach Tiisetso Melato said although his team lost to Highlands he was proud of his team.

“It was a special game, the boys had to think of this particular game as their last for the season but they gave it their best. This was our third game against Highlands and we’ve improved consistently,” he said.

A parent supporting his child from Robertsham, Zunaid Hajee added that the U10 team fought a good fight.

“The players had a lot of fight and team spirit. Both teams were rising to the challenge to play a good game of football.”
