Sapra Outdoor Movie Night a hit

The Northern Suburbs Tennis Club in Parkwood hosted the first outdoor movie night by Sapra.

Parkwood and Saxonwold residents came out in droves to spend an evening with their community at Saxonwold and Parkwood Resident’s Association’s (Sapra) first Outdoor Movie Night.

The movie took place on September 10 at the Northern Suburbs Tennis Cub in Parkwood. Sapra Secretary Marcelle Ravid said that even though starting time was delayed until sundown, in order to see the screen properly, families did not seem to mind just relaxing in the twilight with children playing and laughing together.

The idea was the brainchild of the new SAPRA events committee which is made up of just three volunteers. “We cannot thank Bronwyn Crosse, Alison Levesley and Lenore Beilings enough for their time and effort,” said Bill Haslam, the Sapra chairman.

Haslam added, “One of Sapra’s main objectives is to promote community building within our two suburbs and this event was hugely successful in this regard. We want our residents to get to know their neighbours, engage in our community functions and start to use the parks and public facilities. A strong community is one that is both happier and safer.”

Ravid said thanks go to the Northern Suburbs Tennis Club, Community Active Protection, and all the husbands and friends who lent a hand.
