Pirates Road Running Club members shine in Comrades Marathon

Pirates Roads Running Club chair describes this year’s Comrades Marathon participants from the club as largest contingent.

Phillip Phakwago, Michelle Ncube, Jack Makganyoha and Bongani Dlamini (all silver) and Danny Kamona are happy to have represented Pirates Road Running Club in the Comrades Marathon.

Club chairman Gerry Greyling said they had 76 runners representing the club.

Helena Oberholzer is the second Pirates female home.

“This year is the largest Pirates contingent ever to run the marathon with the most number of finishers and medals,” Greyling said.

Brendon Easthorpe and Michael Davies complete their race with positive energy.

The medal standings were as follows:

Pirates Road Running Club silver medalist Jomo Mntungwa during the Comrades Marathon.
Pirates Road Running Club runners Sipho Sithole, Jana Senekal and Tyrann Burger complete the Comrades Marathon.
