Day 1: From Cape Town to Fish Hoek

Your adventure begins in Cape Town. From this place,  you can take a short drive (20 km) to Muizenberg Beach, one of the most popular beaches in Cape Town. Here you can enjoy some sunbathing or take a dip in the ocean before continuing your journey (10 km) to Kalk Bay, another popular beach spot with stunning views of False Bay. After exploring Kalk Bay, continue your journey (10 km) to Fish Hoek Beach, where you can watch surfers riding the waves or simply relax on the beach before heading (10 km) to Simon’s Town, where you can end your day.

Day 2: From Fish Hoek to Noordhoek

On day two of your coastal drive, start your day in Simon’s Town and take a short drive (5 km) to Boulders Beach, where you can see African penguins waddling around on the beach and swimming in the ocean. From here, continue your journey (20 km) to Scarborough Beach, which offers great surfing opportunities and stunning views of False Bay. After exploring Scarborough Beach, head (5 km) east towards Misty Cliffs, and admire the breathtaking views, before ending your day in Noordhoek.

Day 3: From Noordhoek to Hout Bay

Day three of your coastal drive starts off with a visit to Kommetjie Beach (10 km). This beach is known for its long stretches of white sand and crystal clear waters, which are perfect for swimming or surfing. After exploring Kommetjie Beach, continue your journey (5 km) east towards Slangkop Lighthouse, which offers spectacular views over Long Beach and Kommetjie Beaches, before heading (15 km) north towards Hout Bay Beach.

Day 4: From Hout Bay to Cape Town

Day four begins with a visit to Camps Bay Beach (10 km). Here you can enjoy some sunbathing or take a dip in the ocean before continuing your journey (5 km) south towards Clifton Beaches, which offer stunning views, as well as some great swimming spots. After exploring Clifton Beaches, head further south towards Llandudno Beach (5 km), another great spot for sunbathing or swimming, before returning back to Cape Town.

Day 5: From the Mother City to Blouberg

Day five starts off with an early morning ferry ride from Cape Town harbour to Robben Island, which takes about 8 km across Table Bay harbour and gives visitors an opportunity to learn more about South African history at this former prison island turned museum site. After visiting Robben Island, head back into town and take a 15 km drive north towards Bloubergstrand Beach, which offers a spectacular view of Table Mountain as well as some great swimming spots. Finish the day with a stroll along the beach and taste some seafood from one of the many restaurants in the area.

Day 6: From Blouberg to explore the West Coast Nature Reserve

On day six, take a journey inland to explore the West Coast Nature Reserve. The reserve is a protected area filled with diverse wildlife, such as ostriches, wildebeests, antelopes, and even lions. Spend the day wandering through the trails or take a few hours to go birdwatching for some of the more than 200 species that call this park home. Be sure to keep an eye out for the endangered Black Harrier, which is the only raptor that can be found in the reserve. After a day of sightseeing, cap off the night with a delicious dinner at one of the nearby restaurants and enjoy some fresh seafood from the ocean below.

Day 7: From West Coast to Table Mountain

On day seven, it’s an early morning visit to Table Mountain National Park, located 20 km from Cape Town city centre where visitors have the opportunity to explore this World Heritage Site by foot or via a cable car ride up Table Mountain itself, offering breathtaking panoramic views over the Cape Peninsula below it as well as some interesting wildlife spotting opportunities such as baboons, fynbos, and various bird species living within park boundaries. Finally, return back into town, where you can end your seventh and final day on this amazing road trip.
